Trying to find out more on web 2.0

I am new to this blogging world. All I am doing here is to find out how web 2.0 works. Is this a new technology? Is this a bunch of technologies put together? Is it possible to benchmark a system that is running web 2.0 based server? Or is the load really going to affect a bunch of servers?

As I try to read up more on web 2.0, I am trying to see if there would be replies on this blog that might help me? After all web 2.0 is being touted as a web of collaboration. Isn't it?
